    t's difficult to assess accurately
    the influence the horse has
had on civilization, but that
influence has been immense.
Horses have served their riders
willingly for generations.  Often
they are called to serve without
regard their own safety, even to
the point of their own destruction.

his sculpture is the first in a
     series of five miniatures
commemorating that relationship
between horse and rider and their
mutual role in shaping the West.
In this work the two exhibit a
closeness that results in a
oneness with each other.  Note
the horse has no reins.  This is
not a ride "to" or "from", but rather
a ride "with".
