     he origin of the Texas Longhorn begins with the introduction of a long-horned variety of cattle in 1493 from Spain.  It is believed that the cattle imported from other parts of Europe a century or more later bred with the Spanish variety to create the evolving breed's markings. 

     or the next two centuries the Texas Longhorn would be shaped and molded by the very land whose name it would bear.  The resulting animal would be known for its strength and resilience and would thereafter be seen as
"Kin to the Land" which bore it.
